| Job Description |
Nationality: Afghan
The Independent Directorate for Local Governance (IDLG) was established through a presidential decree on 30th August 2007 that has been mandated to improve governance in order to achieve stability, security and development. IDGL with support from international and national organizations and donor communities will take firm steps for collective actions. In this context, IDLG initiated three main programmes of interventions for sub-national governance; 1) Policy Development Programme; 2) Institutional Development Programme; and 3) Broader Governance Programme - Local Governance Programme for Afghanistan.
IDLG-PCRCD in establishing the PC information Network and Resource Center/ PC Platform to serve as an institutional mechanism for strengthening coordination among PC members, It also is the mechanism for mobilizing resources and technical assistance for the capacity development of PCs to enable them to undertake their mandated functions and responsibilities. The Center will coordinate, synchronize, rationalize and deliver capacity building programs and other enabling support services and resources needed by the PCs to enhance their coordination and networking capabilities. It will be managed by a core of professional and executive experts (collectively known as the PC Network Secretariat) to be employed by IDLG - PCRCD.
For PCs (Provincial Councils) Capacity Development Support Program PCRCD/IDLG is need for translation services to accelerate implementation of the Program.
Duties & Responsibilities: a. Translate various documents of different subjects, (letter of condition or any other official documents) to English, Dari and Pashto in accordance with standard art of translation. b. Verbal translation services for PCRCD senior staff c. Review/ proofread of the translated documents and making necessary corrections. d. Review, edit, and final proofread of the translated documents and ensuring consistency. e. Compile Dari or Pashto words and terminologies along with its English meanings that can be used as reference in translations. f. Translating emails and other corresponding related to project g. Any other task, assigned by supervisor. |

| Qualifications |
a. A college degree English Language, literature, Journalism or any other equivalent. b. At least two years translation experience with governmental, non-governmental or international organizations. c. Ability to review the translated documents and ensure its consistency with the original documents. d. Excellent writing skills in national languages (Pashto/Dari) e. Excellent presentation and communication skills f. Commitment to the given tasks g. Strong sense of initiatives h. Ability to work in a team of complex work environment. |
