World Vision is an international Relief and Development Organization operating in over 100 countries around the globe. WV International/Afghanistan started its operations since 2002 in the western provinces of Afghanistan (Herat, Ghor, and Badghis) in the areas of Education, Health, Agriculture, and Water & Sanitation.
Duties & Responsibilities: PURPOSE OF POSITION Under direct supervision of MYAP Public Health Specialist will implement all MYAP Health activities in 5 operational districts of Ghor especially in Chagcharan district. Will provide technical assistance to & coordinate with stakeholders STARS, PHD, CHA Community Surah etc. The main responsibilities are as follows
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES 1. Lead the MYAP Health Team, comprising of CHO- Training, CHO Documentation, and 6 CHO field Staff.
2. Will support the Public Health Coordinator to implementation of MYAP Health activities through the team especially in CC a. Identification, Registration of 4 categories of beneficiaries b. Implementation of MCH&N activities
3. Lead the MYAP Health CHP cadre and all CHP related activities, a. CHP selection, registration, b. CHP training need identification c. Conducting regular CHP training d. Monitoring & Supervision of ongoing CHP activities at field
4. Ensuring food for the beneficiaries in coordination with Commodity Dept 5. Ensuring livelihood of project beneficiaries in coordination with Livelihood dept 6. Ensuring Monitoring & Evaluation of Health activities in coordination with M&E dept
7. Technical support and coordination with STARS to implement MCH&N activities in all the 5 target districts in Ghor province
8. Conducting regular training and refresher training for STARS staff
9. Training need identification and arranging regular training for PHD staff 10. Supporting ongoing activities of PHD especially EPI, NID etc
11. Facilitate capacity building of MYAP Health staff a. Report writing, conducting surveys, b. Computer use c. Training on H&N d. 12. Will support the Public Health Coordinator to prepare, update, distribute training and IEC material on MCH&N issues
13. Involve Community Surah and encourage Community participation in Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition activities to ensure long term ownership and effectiveness of the program, through the village health committees and Positive deviant leaders.
14. Facilitate and attend WV’s monthly meetings with the MoPH, village health committees and CHWs, STARS and other stakeholders.
15. Collect, compile and analysis of epidemiological data from the project implementation sites in Ghor province and forward them in a timely manner. 16. Write weekly, monthly, quarterly and End of project reports, and submit to PHC

| Qualifications |
1. Medical Doctor with MPH. Qualification can be considered in case of highly experienced candidate 2. Very Good English Skill ( Communication ( oral) and written) 3. Able and willing to travel around 5 districts of Ghor Province, and to live there 4. Previous employment with a National or International NGO, or the Ministry of Public Health 5. Knowledge of office systems, including experience with computer application (e.g. Word, Excel, E-mail) 6. Strong task management skills including attention to detail. 7. Willing to work at odd hours when necessary 8. Cross–cultural sensitivity, flexible worldview, emotional maturity and physical stamina. 9. Ability to work in and contribute to a team environment. 10.
