| Job Description |
Nationality: Afghan
The Government of Afghanistan has decided to convert the present electrical utility, Da Afghanistan Breshna Moassasa (DABM), to Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS). DABS will be a state-owned commercially operated electric utility responsible for generating, transmitting, importing and distributing energy to consumers in Afghanistan. DABS is now actively recruiting qualified personnel for its staff.
Duties & Responsibilities: 1. Identification and management of commercial risks.
2. Provide reports to management on contractual status, prepare and submit contract variation submissions, assess contract risks.
3. Ensure compliance with contractual and statutory obligations.
4. Negotiation of contracts (including pricing and terms and conditions).
5. Ensuring the maintenance of adequate records of contracts and agreements entered into by DABS.
6. Resolution of contractual conflicts and disputes.
7. Providing advice to DABS management regarding all legal and contractual matters.
8. Monitoring, whenever necessary, the evaluation and negotiation of proposals, contracts, sub-contracts and all commercial legal agreements.
9. Supporting the development of company wide legal & contracts processes. |

| Qualifications |
Degree in law and 5 (five) years' progressively responsible experience in the practice of law, ideally experience in energy and/or in the legal department of a commercial company.
Knowledge, skills, abilities 1. Ability to remain calm and work under pressure.
2. Expertise in preparing, reviewing and approving contractual documentation.
3. Ability to manage time effectively, multi-task and meet challenging deadlines.
4. Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision.
5. Ability to think logically and analytically and have a proactive and flexible attitude.
6. Skilled, diplomatic and persuasive communicator.
7. PC literate (Word, Excel).
8. Experience in contract preparation and negotiation.
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Dari, Pashtu and English.
10. Attention to detail and numeracy.
11. Flexible - willing and able to work outside normal Company hours as and when required in response to business needs.
12. Organised and methodical.
13. Experience of preparing legal documents
