| Job Description |
Nationality: Afghan
The ICRC is a neutral, impartial and independent organization. Its exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of war and internal violence and to provide them with assistance. The ICRC endeavours to alleviate suffering by promoting and strengthening humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles.
Duties & Responsibilities: 1. He will keep contacts and negotiate with local interlocutors.
2. He will organise First Aid courses and act as a trainer.
3. He will travel independently to the different program sites and provide support and supervision to the Health programs.
4. He is responsible for the filing and documentation of the program activities and ensure continuation and progress independently from expatriate presence. |

| Qualifications |
Professional experience and competencies needed: 1. Strong professional health background.
2. Additional degree and/or strong experience in Public Health related issues is preferred.
3. At least 3 years experience in Community Health - Primary Health Care.
4. Experience in training programs.
5. Profound understanding of local environment and cultural habits.
6. Good communication in Dari, Pashto and English.
7. Computer literate, administration experience preferred.
8. Experience with international organisations.
9. Previous experience with the ICRC is an asset
Additional desired skills: 1. Ability to work independently according to objectives rather than job descriptions,
2. Good understanding and sensitivity to deal with deprived, disadvantaged and fringe groups in AFG,
3. Ability to deal with Afghan authorities (police, prison authorities)
4. Understanding of the "expatriate environment"
5. Good trainer and communicator.
6. Ready to travel within AFG. |
