Islamic Relief (UK) promotes sustainable economic and social development by working with local communities. The organization was established in Birmingham, UK in 1984. The core geographical focus areas are Afghanistan, Albania, Azerbaijan, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bangladesh, Chechnya, Gaza Strip, Mali, India, Pakistan and Sudan.

At international level, IR is a member of the UN economic and social Council (special category) signatories to the code of conduct for the international Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and NGO’s in Disaster Relief.


Duties & Responsibilities:
1.Assist IR Afghanistan Country Director in external relations, including sourcing funding; managing relationships with key donors; and building relationships with other key partners within country.

2.Identify and ensure/search support for staff capacity building and training where it is needed; and include helping to develop, and put into practice in cooperation with senior management staff organizational capacity building plan.

3.Facilitate project/program officers in planning and insure that deliverables are met in accordance to proposals, budgets and donor guidelines.

4.Conduct monitoring visits/actions in collaboration with relevant departments as Finance and Program and insure timely and rightness of program/project and organizational budgets, cash flow projections, financial reports and more.

5.NPM duty station is country wide and he must spend 50% of his time in the field and assisting the project/programme officers and in-charge persons in quality service delivery and feed back the country office accordingly

6.Liaise with officials in the government, donors, UN agencies, NGOs, and media in order to maintain a close and positive working relationship between IR Afghanistan and these institutions, and to ensure the visibility of IRA work.

7.Engage in active fundraising for programs with support of Program staff throughout the country.

8.In partnership with the Director, develop and implement a resource mobilization and communications/outreach strategy for the organization, in particular in exploring institutional funding.

9.In partnership with Country Director and senior management, lead the development and implementation of an organization wide strategic plan and mechanisms for programme monitoring of achievements of targets/objectives.

10.Review and comment on draft proposals, reports, and other outputs to ensure quality and accuracy with respect to content, and to ensure that outputs meet the needs of stakeholders.

11.With assistance of the Program Coordinators and Area Manager compile the Annual Report, Annual Work Plan, prepare program and organizational presentations,

12.Articulate and advocate IR Afghanistan programming in various technical and development coordination meetings, papers, presentations, etc.

13.Be engaged in the continuing development of the organization, its mission and its staff, through the sharing of experience and knowledge, particularly contributing to its Institutional Learning efforts.

14.Any other duties that may be assigned
Qualifications oUniversity Degree or equivalent
Five years related experience as Manager or Project Coordinator
