Turquoise Mountain is a non-profit, non-governmental organization specializing in urban regeneration, business development, and education in traditional arts and architecture. We seek to provide jobs, skills, and a renewed sense of national pride to Afghan men and women.
Turquoise Mountain (www.turquoisemountain.org) is a Non Governmental Organization based in Kabul. We specialize in urban regeneration, Cultural, vocational education, and business development, focusing on Afghan traditional architecture and crafts.
We are seeking an experienced Afghan professional to be Media & Communications Officer. They will work within the Development & Communications Department to create and maintain productive, positive relationships with the media in Afghanistan, and possibly abroad. They will also produce and translate other communications materials, and assist with fund-raising proposals and monitoring if necessary.
Duties & Responsibilities: 1. Craft a comprehensive press strategy for TM within Afghanistan.
2. Secure coverage of TM’s projects and events in print, radio and television (including writing press releases and updates, maintaining relationships with journalists).
3. Initiate events and programs that engage key Afghan stakeholders and communities.
4. Act as a spokesperson for the organization when required.
5. Maintain a contact list of Afghan media and other stakeholders.
6. Craft and/or translate communications materials into Dari (and Pashto if possible).
7. Assist the other members of the department with tasks related to fund-raising and the international media. |

| Qualifications |
1. Degree or equivalent.
2. At least one years professional experience in relevant filed.
3. Fluent English and Dari, preferably also Pashto.
4. Experience in Programming of Computer.
5. Excellent contacts within media.
6. Excellent communication skills. |
