Job Description Nationality: Afghan

NRC-Norwegian Refugee Council is a private non-governmental, humanitarian organization specialized in assisting and advocating for the rights of refugees and internally displaced persons.

Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Looks for the security of the office and staff in the office;

2. Keeps all the windows and doors locked when the staff members leave the office;

3. Keeps the office responsible informed of any incident in the neighborhood;

4. Does not allow unauthorized people park their vehicles in front of the offices;

5. Does not allow any body enters to the office without informing office or Guest House responsible;

6. Does not allow any suspicious packages to the compound unless authorized by Supervisor/Security Manager/Officer;

7. Checks every body entering to the office;

8. Registers all the visitors coming to the office or Guest House and reports to responsible person;

9. Has to keep the generators maintained,(starts it on time and keeps fuel balance);

10. Checks the heaters in the morning and continuously keeps checking it;

11. Checks all security lights and reports if there is any losses during his working time;

12. Controls the water accessibility in the office (water pump, pipes);

13. Switches on and off all lights of the building on time;

14. Must clean the compound and guard room regularly and keep all the materials arranged;

15. Has to help cleaner in some parts of their work (heater cleaning, washing heavy/big items);

16. Has the full responsibility of the garden of the office;

17. Must obey and work according the time and schedule given by his supervisor;

18. Must respect the visitors and behavior them gently;

19. Performs any other duty given to him.
Qualifications Required:
1. Ability to remain focused under pressure with a commitment to work hard and for long hours;

2. Ability to work both day and night shifts;

3. Good character, cooperative and honest;

4. Fluency in spoken Dari.


Preferred:
1. Completion of secondary school;

2. Previous working experience with NGOs and expatriates;

3. Experience in basic repairs (electricity, plumbing, etc);

4. Basic English and Pashto, ability to read/write Dari.
