Nationality: Afghan
As there are many opportunities for communicable disease to strike and cause epidemics of disease spreading across the country, a Disease Early Warning System (DEWS) within Afghan Public Health Institute (APHI) will have the potential to rapidly identify the early stage of an outbreak and in coordination with Disease control dept. bring timely public health interventions to stop disease transmission and reduce morbidity and mortality that may have resulted from the spread of the epidemic. This is a senior post in this system with the following Responsibilities and qualifications:
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Establish sentinel sites in Badakhshan province hospitals
2. Train the Sentinel DEWS Reporting Sites to
a.Make active as well as passive search for the cases in health facilities
b. Fill the weekly reporting forms
c. Verify rumors in their area
d. Report the weekly data to the PSRU
e. Collect the specimens from the suspected cases
f. Report immediately any disease cases that have crossed the alert threshold.
3. Establish working relations with military and private hospitals.
4. Communicate rapidly with the CSRU for any sudden occurrence of major diseases for investigation
5. Coordinate with MoPH teams and other partners
6. Investigation and response to the outbreaks
7. Report the weekly data to CSRU
8. Submit the monthly and quarterly report to the CSRU
9. Perform reasonable and related tasks as may be assigned. |

| Qualifications |
1. Medical Degree and/or Public Health Graduates.
2. 2 years experience in communicable disease surveillance and control or 3 years experience in Public Health.
3. Familiar with the policy, strategy, rule and regulations of MoPH.
4. Good computer skills.
5. Good Understanding, speaking, reading and writing ability in English, Pashto and Dari.
6. Kind and friendly personality.
7. Having abilities at work and good interpersonal communication. |
