Nationality: Afghan
The Louis Berger Group, in joint venture with Black & Veatch Special Project Corp. (LBG/B&V) was awarded the Afghanistan Infrastructure & Rehabilitation Program (IRP) contracted by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). IRP will focus on the rehabilitation and construction of vital transportation, energy, water and other public infrastructure throughout the country. Special emphasis will be placed on sustaining the development of the institutions and systems in the transport and energy sectors.
The IRP is a multi-year program and numbers of projects already identified are now in progress.
Duties & Responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Project Manager, the Deputy Site Construction Manager will perform the following principal functions relating to project support but are not limited to:
1. Inspect daily construction work items performed by the contractor/subcontractor to ensure work is performed in accordance with contract documents including plans, profiles, cross-sections, details, general notes and technical specifications and in according to schedule.
2. Prepare daily report of his observations of the work performed by the contractor's work force under his supervision. Report should be supplemented by photograph, field notes, work location station (change), type of equipment used, material, personnel, and conclusion whether work was performed according to contract documents or not.
3. File a notice of non-compliance report with Assistant Project Manager in case a work item is not performed in accordance with the contract documents.
4. Document schedule slippage due to non-performance of contractor's work force, use of substandard material, substandard or insufficient number of tools and equipment. Photos and detailed notes should be kept throughout the work operation.
5. Carry out any other relevant duties requested by the Management. |

| Qualifications |
1. Ability to follow directions 2. Ability to understand plans and specifications 3. Easy fluency in English, and native understanding of Dari and Pashto
Desirable Qualifications: 1. General civil engineering experience 2. Working experience with organization of international repute will be an advantage.
Education: General civil engineering experience
Experience: 5 to 8 years experience in the related field.
Language Requirements: Strong command of Reading, Speaking and Writing of English language.
Abilities and Skills: Ability to work in a team, ability to work under pressure to meet the deadlines and excellent interpersonal skills are required.
